Jim Murphy - President
With extensive experience in the liquid CO2 business and in options trading Jim possesses expertise in both industry and the financial markets. As Director of Strategic Planning for EPCO, a company that produces and distributes liquid CO2 captured primarily from ethanol producers, he has gained in-depth knowledge of the CO2 and ethanol industries.
In addition to his 20 years with EPCO, Jim has been a leader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. As New Products Chairman Jim gained firsthand knowledge in the introduction and expansion of new products, helping to make the Exchange more competitive and dynamic. While serving as Chairman of the Stock Selection Committee, the number of companies listed for options trading grew from 200 to 700. Likewise, his experience in managing a trading group on an exchange from its infancy to maturity makes him well-suited to be a leader in the emerging environmental markets.
Jim also founded and served as the president of two major not-for-profits in the Chicago area: The Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation and The Chicago Charter School Foundation.
Gary Lazarski - General Counsel
Mr. Lazarski has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 1992. After nine years with Schonfeld Securities, where he worked both as an equity trader and as Branch Office Manager in the Chicago office, he joined the management team at Titan Trading Services as Principal and President. He graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and received his JD from the University of Michigan Law School. His FINRA securities licenses include the Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 24, 55 and 63.
Jason Jerke - Vice President of Engineering
Jason earned his Master of Science degree in Industrial Microbiology from South Dakota State University and his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University. Jason provides technical, operational and business management services to the biofuel industry. He was the former Vice President and Plant Manager of Central Indiana Ethanol (CIE). Under Jason's management CIE reached 125% nameplate capacity within five months of the company's launch. Jason was a former Process Engineer at Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company, where he put together a team of engineers to develop a novel gasification system to replace natural gas usage in the facility. He has spent his career developing value-added fuels and chemicals from agricultural feedstocks.
Mitch Miller - Vice President of Systems Integration
Mitch provides technical, management and operation services to the biofuels industry. He was the former President, General Manager and Director of Central Indiana Ethanol where he led the company's fundraising operations from 2005 to 2008. He was also the former Operations Manager of Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company (CVEC) and Glacial Grain Spirits. Mitch facilitated the growth of CVEC's direct E-85 marketing program which is recognized as one of the first direct marketing programs in the U.S. ethanol market. In addition, under Mitch's management, CVEC launched Shakers ultra-premium vodka, organically certified beverage vodka and a wide variety of standard denatures alcohols for the food and cosmetic industries. Mitch is a founding industry advisor for the Renewable Energy Technology Program at MN West College, Granite Falls, MN. He holds a degree in Process Plant Technology from Bismarck State College.
Brandon Pearlman - Vice President of Business Operations
Brandon has been a management consultant for several years focusing on various operational and strategic initiatives at Fortune 500 companies. He has been involved in a number of large-scale projects at companies such as Tyco International, Aon Corporation, Fannie Mae and Navistar. In addition to his work at large public companies, he also focused on various engagements at small and mid-sized businesses. Prior to joining the Carbon Green team, Brandon served as a Senior Consultant at SMART Business Advisory and Consulting and as an Analyst at Huron Consulting Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Iowa with specialty coursework in entrepreneurial finance and operations.
